Trainings

Training Mavens programs incorporate legal requirements with practical examples of prevention and specific management techniques. All of our trainings are conducted on company premises by experienced attorney presenters. Because our seminars utilize group discussions and break-out groups, programs are most effective with fewer than 30 participants. Included in the training cost, a trainer will review with a company representative your employment policies and organizational structure for optimal understanding of your business.

SUPERVISORY PROGRAMS

Required CA AB 1825
California law requires all supervisors to take a two-hour training program every two years to prevent illegal sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation.

Our programs are fully updated for the new legal requirements for 2007. We cover not only sexual harassment, as required by law, but also all other forms of illegal harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Our programs are over 2 hours, exceeding all state law requirements.

Managing Among Legal Landmines
This two-hour program gives managers an overview of the hot topics in employment law affecting employee management. Recent seminar topics have included leave laws, disability issues, wage and hour concerns and retaliation claims.

Interviewing Workshop
An hour and one half, hands-on workshop for anyone engaged in interviewing and hiring decisions. This program covers effective interviewing and note-taking techniques as well as lawful questioning and hiring concerns.

Performance Management
This hour workshop assists managers in properly documenting employee performance. We address effective performance evaluations, drafting employee warnings and preparing for termination.

One-on-One Coaching
For situations where personalized and individualized attention is needed, we offer sensitivity coaching for all types of harassment and performance management.

NON-SUPERVISORY PROGRAMS

Promoting A Respectful Workplace
This one-hour training for all employees covers the basics of discrimination law while making employees aware of company practices and procedures. Non-supervisory training serves as an important employee relations and legal defense tool.
